APRIL SHOWERS MAY FLOWERS: YolanDa Brown

APRIL SHOWERS MAY FLOWERS represents pushing through, breaking barriers and believing enough to achieve; the debut album of talented saxophonist Yolanda Brown.

Accompanied by The royal philharmonic concert Orchestra and special guests, Brown graced the stage at HMV Hammersmith Apollo in celebration of the launch of her album.

Opening with what she described as an “introduction of her self”, Browns ‘story” was narrated with passion and authenticity. The show was simply amazing, the music captured the audience placing them on a journey that was intriguing and entertaining, from the classic British Isles, to the echoing beats of Africa and the mellowing sounds of Jamaica. There was something for everyone.

Her performance with Mike Aremu, in the second installment of the show was unforgettable, their rendition of Lionel Ritchie’s Hello, brought the audience to their feet with a standing ovation.

Tokyo Sunset is one of my favourite tracks on the album, for all the Jazz & Blues lovers, this is one to have!
